Mercedes-Benz Charging Station 300 kW Open to All Users
300 kilowatts are open to all users, Mercedes-Benz opens its first brand charging center in Europe.
Luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz announced that it opened its first electric vehicle (EV) charging center in Europe on November 27 in Mannheim, Germany. The new charging center is part of the automaker's strategy to build more than 2,000 of its own EV charging stations and 10,000 fast charging points around the world, which is planned to be completed by the end of this decade.
Mercedes-Benz’s new EV charging center is in the Rhein-Main-Neckar region of Germany. The company said the region is one of Germany's most important transport corridors and is part of Mercedes-Benz's global commitment to expand EV charging infrastructure.
This new charging center features six charging points, each with an output of 300 kW. The company says there is only one port per charger to ensure maximum energy transfer to the charging vehicle. In addition, thanks to intelligent charging management, each vehicle can be charged using the maximum available energy.
The automaker said certain EV models will be able to charge from 10% to 80% capacity in less than 20 minutes at its new charging centre. In addition, to develop and operate the Mercedes-Benz charging network in Europe, Mercedes-Benz plans to rely on energy and mobility specialist E.On as a partner in the future.
Mercedes-Benz said its charging centers will be open to electric vehicles of all sizes, including small vehicles and vans of all brands.
